Software for handball clubs with academy and senior teams

OneClub manages the academy + senior mix that's typical of Spanish handball, the male and female teams running in parallel, the regional federation categories and the team-based communication. No more wrestling with a tool designed for another sport.

What makes running a handball club different

An amateur handball club in Spain rarely runs a single team. The norm is a club with an academy (mini, U12, U14, U16, U18 equivalents) and at least one senior team, with male and female sections that train in the same sports hall but compete in separate leagues, with different schedules per regional federation and a very high percentage of families with two kids playing in different age groups. Handball remains a small sport in visibility terms but is heavily structured at competition level, and clubs typically run on Excel, WhatsApp and Drive folders.

Legacy tools in the sector (Clupik, Playoff, Cluber) were designed for football clubs with a broadcast model: one dominant team per category and top-down communication. That fits handball badly: the under-18 women's coach needs her own channel with her 14 players, sports halls are shared with basketball or other sports (last-minute schedule changes), regional handball federations have calendars that shift with little notice, and club events imply coordinated communication with entire families, not individual players.

On top of that, handball lives off the work of volunteer directors. The treasurer is usually a parent or former player who dedicates a few hours a week, not a dedicated admin. Any tool that forces them to reconcile bank transfers, chase returned receipts or duplicate databases between academy and senior ends up consuming more time than it saves. OneClub is designed so that treasurer can close the month in an afternoon, with all payments consolidated, late-payers in a single list and family communication centralised by team.

What OneClub brings

Built for the typical handball club structure

Six features designed for formative handball clubs with academy, senior teams and parallel male and female sections.

Federation categories with automatic season change

Configure the official categories your regional handball federation uses (mini, U12, U14, U16, U18, senior with male/female variants). OneClub recalculates which category each player belongs to based on year of birth. When August arrives it suggests promotions in bulk and you confirm in one click, without moving players manually between files.

Male and female teams in parallel

Create two teams per category (U18 male, U18 female) with their own coaches, calendars and communication channels, but sharing the club's underlying logic: same fee, same sibling discount, same family records. In the dashboard you see both teams as first-class citizens, not as a manual variant of a main team.

Native multi-child for families with two in the academy

A mum with one son in U14 male and a daughter in U16 female opens ONE account in the portal, sees both fees on the same screen and pays with a single card. Automatic sibling discount, consolidated invoice and team communication delivered separately for each child. This is the flow that in Clupik or Playoff requires patches of separate sheets and duplicate accounts.

Per-team group communication with permissions

Each team has its own internal channel where the coach and team manager send call-ups, schedule changes and match plans. Granular permissions: the U18 women's coach only manages her team, doesn't see the others. Push notification + email with read receipts. The board can send general club-wide messages without saturating team channels.

Regional federation calendar and shared sports hall

Upload the matches from your regional handball federation and OneClub publishes them in each team's calendar with automatic call-ups. For training in shared halls (with basketball or other municipal sports), you manage weekly slots and any last-minute schedule change is communicated instantly to those affected, without messaging 200 people across five channels.

Stripe-native with dunning for clubs without professional finance

Parents pay the monthly fee by card, Apple Pay or Google Pay in 10 seconds. If a card fails, automatic dunning recovers 60-70% without the treasurer calling anyone. Digital SEPA is also available for families who prefer direct debit. The treasurer logs in once a month, sees consolidated payments and closes the month without chasing transfers.

Who it's for

Typical handball club setups

Three handball club profiles that fit OneClub best. If your club looks like one of these, you'll save hours every week.

Formative club with academy and senior teams

150-400 players split into 8-16 teams: academy mixed or male/female from mini to U18, plus male and/or female senior teams competing at regional or national level. Critical: parallel male+female structure, native multi-child, team communication and regional federation calendar.

Municipal handball school

50-200 kids in municipal or club formative programmes, with little or no federated competition. Critical: easy September signup, recurring monthly fees with sibling discount, family communication and attendance control. OneClub lets you start with the free Starter plan up to 50 members.

Handball club with competitive senior section

Formative academy of 100-200 kids plus a senior section competing in División de Honor Plata, Primera Nacional or a regional top league. Needs to manage two worlds: the formative side with families and recurring fees, and the senior side with adult players, possible signings and travel allowances. OneClub runs both structures in parallel without duplicating databases.

How it works in a handball club

The typical flow from the moment you open an account until the season is running on autopilot.

  1. 1

    Set up categories and sections

Define the official categories your regional handball federation uses (mini, U12, U14, U16, U18, senior) and create the male/female teams within each. Assign coach and team manager to each team with their permissions.

  2. 2

Create fees per category with sibling discount

Different plan per category (mini €25/month, U18 €40/month…) or a single club plan. Automatic sibling discount (10%, 20%, 50% configurable) and an annual-payment option with bonus. The fee adjusts automatically when a player moves up a category.

  3. 3

Open online registrations and set up calendar

Share a public signup link. Families register, upload the minor's documents (ID, photo, medical certificate) and pay the first fee by card. Upload or sync your regional federation match schedule.

  4. 4

    OneClub runs the season

Monthly fees on autopilot, family communication per team, updated federation calendar, arrears control with dunning. The treasurer logs in once a month and everything is under control.

Real case
We have male and female academy teams running in parallel plus a women's senior team, and on Excel it was unmanageable. With OneClub each coach manages her team from her phone, families with two kids pay with a single card and I close the month in an afternoon. What I liked most: the sibling discount applies automatically, I don't have to touch anything.
