Alternative to Playoff

Alternative to Playoff for sports clubs

If Playoff is frustrating — opaque pricing that requires a sales call, legacy UI/UX, no Stripe-native flow — here is why OneClub may fit you better, especially if your club is grassroots/amateur.

Public pricing · No commitment · Assisted Playoff migration at no cost

Why you are looking for an alternative

Why are you looking for an alternative to Playoff?

Clubs that reach this page usually have one or more of these concrete pain points.

  • Opaque pricing: every decision goes through a sales call

Playoff doesn't publish prices on its website. To know what you'll pay you need to book a demo, receive a proposal and negotiate. For a small-mid club that wants to decide this week, that friction is prohibitive. The feeling is 'if I have to talk to a sales rep to know the price, it's probably not for me'.

  • Slow onboarding dependent on the sales rep

Signup in Playoff isn't self-service: there's an implementer who configures your instance, imports data and trains the team. This is valuable for professional clubs with budget, but it slows down the decision and adds a coordination layer that an amateur club doesn't want to assume.

  • UI/UX feels previous-generation

Playoff has been on the market for years on the same product base. For a club used to 2024+ interfaces (Notion, Linear, Stripe Dashboard), Playoff feels slow, with lots of clicks, nested menus and flows requiring training. Your admin team puts up with it, families don't.

  • Operational-administrative focus, less on family experience

Playoff stands out in internal club operations (staff management, payroll time-tracking, contracts). If your club is grassroots/amateur without paid staff, you don't leverage all that muscle and you pay for features you don't use. The family experience (registrations, fees, parent communication) isn't the main focus.

It's normal to look for an alternative. Playoff is a serious product aimed at professional and semi-professional clubs. If your club doesn't fit that profile, it's not your problem — the tool wasn't designed for you.

What OneClub does differently

What OneClub does differently

We won't list every feature we have. Only the four that address the pain points that brought you here.

  • Transparent pricing: you see it on the website, no sales call

Free Starter plan up to 50 members. €49/mo Professional plan up to 500 members. You see it on /pricing, decide, activate. No meeting, no proposal, no negotiation. If you need to talk to us we schedule it, but it's not a requirement to start.

  • Self-service onboarding: your club in minutes

You register, configure your club (crest, colors, address, NIF), import members from CSV and start charging the same day. No implementer assigned by default — if you want an onboarding call, we give it free, but most clubs prefer to go solo. No waits, no coordination.

  • Stripe-native: card, Apple Pay, SEPA, all in one

Stripe Connect inside OneClub. Card and Apple Pay as primary flow (more conversion), SEPA available for members who prefer it. Automatic dunning, smart retries, no separate gateway install. The club invoices, OneClub manages collection.

  • Family-first mobile app (not operator-first)

OneClub is built thinking about the family: register kids in 5 minutes, see the weekend match calendar, buy tickets for the summer camp, pay fees with Apple Pay. If your club has active families and little staff, this shows every week.

Honesty first

When you should NOT switch to OneClub

If your club is professional or semi-professional with paid staff (coaches, physios, managers on payroll) and you need labor time-tracking integrated in the same software, stay with Playoff. They have a native labor management module that OneClub doesn't compete with — we don't solve shifts, contracts or payroll.

If your board values having an implementer assigned during the first quarter with in-person training sessions or biweekly review meetings, Playoff fits you better. OneClub is self-service product: we give you a free onboarder the first 30 days, but the model isn't sustained high-touch.

How to migrate from Playoff to OneClub

The process usually closes in 3-5 days for amateur clubs. With personal assistance from the OneClub team.

  1. 1

Request the export from your Playoff sales rep

Playoff delivers your data in CSV or Excel format: members, teams, fee plans, payment history. Specifically request the SEPA mandates history and IBANs so you don't lose that information. It usually takes 24-72 hours depending on your account rep's availability.

  2. 2

    Assisted importer in OneClub

You upload the files to OneClub and the importer maps the columns. If Playoff's structure is different, we help you transform it. You review the preview, validate that fee plans match, and confirm. SEPA mandates are reconverted inside Stripe.

  3. 3

    Validation and go-live

You generate test charges with 5-10 real members. Once validated, OneClub goes live and you notify Playoff of the cancellation. If your Playoff contract has a commitment period, manage the cancellation date with their sales rep to coincide with your OneClub activation.

We assign you a dedicated onboarder during migration. No extra cost, no annual contract. If you need us to call you before starting, write to hola@oneclubapp.com.

Clubs that switched
In Playoff every change went through our sales rep and that slowed everything down. In OneClub the panel is clear, prices are published and when I need something I solve it myself from the portal. We've regained autonomy without losing support.
